FEMFORCE #69
Synopsis:
The setting is Calcutta, India, as Ms. Victory, Synn and the unstable She-Cat/Sehkmet travel there with archeologist Shannon Cooper to check out the cat -god's history, and find a way to control She-Cat's torment. While Synn's synestropic hold on She-Cat proves effective, Sehkmet finds a way around that- by leaving She-Cat's body, and possessing Ms. Victory and Synn in turn! But, while they alternately cause mayhem to each other, the now-lucid She-Cat helps the archeologist translate inscriptions, and together they find a talisman to keep Sehkmet in check, so 'Cat will no longer need to rely on the bonding process to maintain control. "My Enemy Within" is written and drawn by Don Secrease, with inks by Nar Castro, Sonny delos Santos, Bert Gabiano, Manny Pantaleon, Jun De Felipe, and Mark Heike.
Also, the Black Phantom is now in the present, and not adjusting very well. Not only that, but imagine her surprise to learn that her body is no longer solid, but insubstantial and ghost-like. Meanwhile, shaken by his loss of control last issue, Craig Williams decides to give up his identity of The Hood, and gives his magical costume to...Buckaroo Betty. With the help of her father, The Haunted Horseman, Betty-Hood tracks down the frightened 'Phantom, and offers to help orient her to her new life. "Chasing Phantoms" is written by Bill Black, drawn by Dick Ayers, and inked by Mark Heike. It guest stars The Green Lama. Great "good girl art" shots of the "Phantom and 'Betty.
Color cover by Mark Heike, full color throughout. Standard comic book format. Printed in 1994. |
