1st Story: The Egg and I (11 pgs)
Credits:

Paisley, letters
Synopsis:
Stella's bid to hatch the alien egg on national TV flops
when Hidalgo, free from her influence and resentful of her
manipulation, cuts her dress and forces her off the air.
Colt, monitoring the show from FF HQ on Jungle Island, heads
for New York to retrieve the egg. Meanwhile, Tara and Janis
use the Femforce's security clearance to learn that Dr.
Rivits has a secret fortress in the Andes. She-Cat painfully
turns down Tara's request for help, and a call to Nightveil
goes unanswered. Unknown to Tara, Nightveil is in another
dimension imprisoned by a gloating, taunting Alizarin
Crimson. Later, T.C. expresses concern over Tara's plans to
run down Rivits and asks if Ms. Victory is available. Tara
explains how Joan has been transformed, as Rad herself
frolics in a local nightspot, capping the evening off in a
raucous fight with some unruly patrons. |

Notes:
The egg Stella uses on the show is presumably the one
shown to Hidalgo in FF 11, which is different from the one
Marimon was attempting to incubate... Rad, though listed in
the Villain / Opponent section, is only antisocial at
worst.... Crimson taunts Nightveil by claiming that Laura's
desire to be more human coupled with her diminished powers
made it possible for the normally weaker Crimson to capture
her.... Claudette, in the midst of her struggle with
Sehkmet, wonders if she can ever fight as She-Cat again....
Temporarily free from Stella's control, TC's eyes are opened
to the kind of woman she is. |
2nd Story: Terror at the Top of the World (9 pgs)
Credits:
Bill Black, script / inks; Marc Hempel, pencils / letters
Synopsis:
To the astonishment of Roxanne Rivits and her henchmen, Dr.
Rivits arrives at his Andes fortress in TC Fremont's jet. Scarred but
physically well-developed, he quickly proves his identity to his
skeptical gang and reestablishes his undisputed leadership. Tara and
Janis, having located the remote hideout in another Fremont jet,
approach the landing bay with guns blazing and storm the fortress.
They fight savagely but are captured by Rivits and separated. Rivits
hooks Janis up to a device that will make her subject to the mental
commands of Roxanne, who in the meantime amuses herself by brutally
whipping Tara. Left alone, Tara is able to escape and bursts into the
lab, freeing Janis and pinning Rivits to his machine with her knife.
She fights with Roxanne, setting the lab ablaze, and Tara and Janis
flee with Roxanne just as the fortress explodes, apparently trapping
Rivits and the rest of his gang inside.

As in FF 11, this story is a reprint from Paragon Publications' Tara
# 2.... Rivits, though apparently killed, reappears in the Shroud
wars.... The plan to put Janis under Roxanne's control is part of
Rivits' scheme to capture the alien being by infiltrating and taking
over the Jungle Island staff.
3rd Story: Untitled (Dragonfly story)(8 pgs)
Credits:
Rik Levins, story / pencils; Bill Black, inks; Wait Paisley,
letters
Synopsis:
Powerless in the alien medieval dimension she has entered,
Dragonfly is captured by lizard men who plan to sell her at the slave
market. The strange creatures are killed by humans who in turn sell
her at the market themselves. Purchased by Hakkar the innkeeper, she
works as a servant girl and witness the senseless murder of Jodie,
another servant, at the hands of an evil noble named Lord Vardek.
Weeks pass, and Dragonfly continues to exist, contrary to the earlier
predictions of the Caretaker of Zzara's sub-reality. She finally
comes to grips with the loss of her power and puts her creative mind
to work. In search of a weapon, Dragonfly deceives a local swordsmith
into believing that her master has ordered a special blade to be
fashioned and shows the craftsman the process for making a light,
strong fencing epee. At that moment Lord Vardek appears in the door
of the shop and tauntingly challenges Dragonfly to a duel. To the
shock of all that watch, Vardek quickly falls victim to Dragonfly's
deadly fencing skill.

Notes:
This is the first of a two-part episode (continued in Fem Fant 1(2))
that concludes the Dragonfly solo series and resolves the cliffhanger
ending at the end of DF 8.... Caretaker's prediction that Dragonfly
would die in the alien dimension was based on Nancy's body being
destroyed by the Psiborg patterned after Ken Burton.... DF's original
reason for going to the dimension from Zzara's sub-reality was to
locate the thug who disappeared after holding onto Nancy in the midst
of her transformation.... The passing of time in the alien dimension
does not necessarily match that of the earth reality.... Story takes
place prior to DF's participation in the Vardax war.
