Synopsis:
Fritz Voltzman performs a procedure on Lady Luger that
physically alters her features to resemble Joan Wayne's.
Before departing to wreak mayhem while impersonating Rad,
Luger taunts an aging, weakening Joan Wayne to the point of
leaving Joan's cell door wide open, confident in her
inability to escape. Elsewhere, Jen meets up with Colt to
compare notes, and the two deduce that the abandoned Mystery
House park is a likely location for Luger's hideout. Their
trek out to the park is delayed as they encounter Luger and
try to prevent her orgy of destruction. Jen, believing that
Luger is her mother, is handcuffed by her reluctance to
fight. The other Femforce members, seeing the fight on the
news, rush to Jen's aid, and a titanic battle ensues. Luger
is safely subdued when Jen wraps a girder around her and
Synn uses her special powers to convince Luger that she can
not escape. Meanwhile, Harry Diamond arranges a plan with TC
Fremont to pay the ransom Singapore Sal, Iron Jaw, and
Killer Clown have demanded for Janis Lawson. When Harry
delivers the money to the crooks, he and Janis are both
saved from death at Sal's hands by the timely intervention
of Paragon, who easily overcomes the trio, finally ending
Janis' hellish ordeal. |

Notes:
Fritz's device works by first softening the bone
structure, making it pliable to reshaping.... Joan laughs at
the irony of possibly dying from old age and trauma before
Luger can return to finish her off.... Stella, no longer in
possession of the Hypnotic Eye, can only argue futilely over
TC's willingness to pay $500,000 for Janis' ransom.... Colt
and Jen seem to be on better terms than their last
encounter; they find the missing Time Triangle hidden in
Rad's shop and learn that Luger's real estate company has
bought the Mystery World park.... Luger's alias (Lila Royce)
is revealed for the first time.... Iron Jaw's teeth are
knocked out of his mouth as he tries to chomp Paragon's
arm.... Sal's pathetic attempt to cozy up to Paragon only
results in a swift, painful spanking from him.... Tara's
rage at how Joan has hurt her since her transformation into
Rad boils over in the one body slam she delivers in the
battle.... At the end of the fight, the team celebrates
their teamwork in safely capturing Rad, unaware that she is
really Luger.... Given Janis's state in the second story,
she must slip into shock some time between her rescue and
being brought to FF HQ. |
2nd Story: Garganta, the Love Goddess? (6 pgs)
Credits:
Bill Black, story; Frank Turner, pencils; Mark Heike, inks
Synopsis:
TC Fremont rushes Janis Lawson to FF HQ, hoping that the sight of
Tara will help her recover from her shock. To Tara's dismay, her
joyous greeting elicits no response, prompting Stella to suggest
committing Janis to a mental ward. Instead, Janis heeds Garganta's
empathic summons and enters her quarters. Garganta uses her healing
powers to cure Janis, and her miraculous reunion with Tara is eyed
coldly by Stella, who characteristically sees potential profit in
Garganta's abilities. Meanwhile, Iron Jaw is released on bail through
the efforts of an A.C.L.U. lawyer named Rosenblum who plans to make
himself wealthy by guiding Iron Jaw's revived career as a wrestler.
First, however, he must clear Iron Jaw of the murder and kidnapping
charges filed against him.

Notes:
Garganta, functioning normally again, now moves into the Heroes /
Heroine category.... Stella puts on a friendly act with the sweetly
naive Betty in order to find out more about Garganta.... Iron Jaw,
true to his Nazi roots, holds contempt for the Jewish Rosenblum, who
is a very cool performer, considering how menacing his client is....
Iron Jaw's speech patterns have become progressively more
contemporary since his release from Weir's vault.
3rd Story: Aftermath Shroud Wars: The Trial of Iron Jaw (4
pgs)
Credits:
Script: Black Art: Black, Brown & Ganz, Overgard
Synopsis:
With the skillful Rosenblum acting as his attorney, Iron Jaw stands
trial for crimes committed since his release by the Black Shroud. By
interrogating Dr.Weir and Dragonfly on the witness stand, Rosenblum
is able to convince the jury that Iron Jaw was under the control of
the Black Shroud during the Shroud Wars and is therefore blameless
for his actions. Incredulous at the state of the U.S. justice system,
Iron Jaw walks out a free man as his arch-enemy Crimebuster can only
watch helplessly.

Iron Jaw plans to kill Rosenblum once he has amassed great wealth....
Rosenblum is technically not an outlaw, but his actions in freeing
Iron Jaw merit his placement in the Villains column.
