Continuing a year long project customizing everyone's
favorite mutants, Iron-Cow Productions is proud to unveil their
latest
line of figures: X-MEN 1986. Each figure in this line represents
the classic Chris Claremont / John Romita Jr. run on X-Men,
which many feel was the highpoint of X-Men story telling.
Seen here are the nine figures in the intial offering. From
left to right we have: CYCLOPS, PHOENIX II (w/ Phoenix force
display base), Rogue, Storm, Nightcrawler (with Teleporting
Action display base), Wolverine (re-offered from ICP), Shadowcat,
Colossus, and Nimrod the Ultimate Sentinel.
CYCLOPS
First off is CYCLOPS, in what many agree is his prefered
costume. Featuring multiple points of articulation, Cyclops
is torn between a life leading the X-Men and his new duty
as husband to Madeline Pryor.
PHOENIX II (with Phoenix Force display
base)
Fleeing a hostile future world of rampant Mutant persecution,
Rachel Summers time travels to the 1980's in an effort
to prevent a doomsday future from occuring. But upon
arriving here, she begins to wonder if she arrived in the
correct
time line.
The Phoenix II figure represents Rachel Summers at the
height of her power. Featuring 7 points of articulation,
Phoenix
is ready to take on any adversary.
Next up are two lovely ladies who are not to
be messed with. Displaying the finest in 80's superhero fashions
are:
ROGUE
Don't let her southern charm fool you. This young mutant
has a strength to rival that of Colossus. This version
of Rogue sports 11 points of articulation and is
the first of
a potential series of Rogue customs, reflecting her
various costumes over the course of her career as an
X-Man.
STORM
Although this incarnation of Storm had temporarily lost
her mutant abilities, her combat training made her
still a force
to be reckoned with. Storm also features 7 points
of articulation.
NIGHTCRAWLER (with Teleporting Action
Display Base)
Everyone's favorite fuzzy elf finally receives the appropriate
representaion in action figure form, complete with
'Teleporting Action' display base. Sure, the base doesn't
actually *do*
anything, but he looks great displayed in front
of it, you gotta admit. Nightcrawler features some 26 points
of
articulation,
making him the most poseable Iron-Cow Prod. custom
to date.
WOLVERINE
Originally on display at the Iron-Cow Prod. website a year
or so back, Wolverine is offered again to complete
the team of Eighties X-Men. The figure is the smallest
of the
bunch,
reflecting the small stature of the character.
Still, with 14 points of articulation, this ferocious
mutant can take
on any foe.
SHADOWCAT
The youngest of all the active X-Men, Shadowcat has proved
herself an invaluable member of the team
time and time again. Though she changed names as often
as she
changed costumes,
this outfit is the preferred attire of choice
for
our
young heroine. Shadowcat features 11 points of
articulation.
COLOSSUS
Everyone's favorite Russian powerhouse chose this new outfit
as a tribute to his Soviet heritage.
Colossus has nine points of articulation and stands ready
to
do battle
whenever the
need arises.
NIMROD
The Sentinels of the future have created the ultimate killing
machine... and he is wearing magenta
trim. Standing a whopping 8 inches tall, this Nimrod
figure has
10 points of articulation
and is ready to combat the mutant
menace wherever
and whenever the need arises.
