The
impending Justice League Animated series hasn't slowed Hasbro
at all as far as releasing the next wave of Adventures of the
DC Universe figures. With the exception of the Kirby 4th World
figure this line now seems to be following along the same route
of the old Kenner Super Powers line. With what they produced for
custom con last year and the batch this year could we see the
entire Super Powers line remade in the animated style? It's looking
that way so far! What more could a DC fan ask for?
Green
Arrow - Oliver Queen is back in the DCU and back in plastic as
well! Green Arrow, of course, comes with his trademark bow and
arrows, poised ready to take on any villain. GA has 5 points of
articulation and "bow-drawing" action.
Black Canary - This year, helping to round out the JLA: Year One
cast we have Black Canary. Following in her beau's footsteps Black
Canary comes with a mini-crossbow. Dianah has 5 points of articulation.
Hawkman - Every team needs a leader, and Hawkman used to be one
for the JLA and JSA, now he can lead your shelf of DC heroes.
Hawkman has flapping wing action and comes with a mace for thumpin'
bad guys with. Hawkman has 8 points of articulation.
Captain Marvel / Shazam - The world's mightiest mortal flashes
on the scene with a removable cape and "punching action."
The big red cheese has 6 points of articulation.
Red Tornado - Ma' Hunkle would be proud of how handsome Red Tornado
looks in his removable cape and all his 5 points of articulated
glory.
Firestorm - Firestorm flies into the line with 6 points of articulation
and fireball throwing action!
Atom - Big things come in small packages, and Atom will be the
first to tell you that! Atom comes with 4 points of articulation
and a miniature version of himself, perfect to battle cats under
your porch.
Flash II - The first in the ADCU sub-line "Variations that
Make Sense" banner the dark speedster streaks in the line.
With lightning bolt shaped scar and 5 points of articulation this
mysterious addition to the Flash legacy.
Aquaman II - Another from Hasbro's new "Variations that make
Sense" line. Last year was the classic Aquaman, this year
is it the Modern Aquaman. Aquaman has 5 points of articulation
and a removeable/retactable hook that can be replaced with an
extra hand (not shown).
Martian Manhunter - J'onn J'onzz the lean green fat-reducing grilling
machine.. uh.. I mean FIGHTING machine, rounds out the JLA: Year
One cast. With removable cape and 6 points of articulation.
Cheetah - Our Legion of Doom collection draws closer to completion
with the inclusion of Cheetah in this wave. Cheetah has 5 points
of articulation.
Classic Robin - The last entry in this years "Variations
that make Sense" line is classic Robin. It looks to me like
they just did some retooling on the head and legs, but still it's
a cool figure to finally get to go with the Classic Batman figure
they gave us earlier. Robin has 5 points of articulation and a
slingshot (not shown)
Fire Fly - Most of us never thought we'd see a Fire Fly figure
in our life times since he only appeared in a couple of Batman
episodes, but what do ya know?! Here he is. Fire Fly is a nice
companion piece to last year's Fireguard Batman.
