Pros
and Cons
As
a continuation of the Adventures of The DC Universe Hasbro as
announced this year a new sub-line of figures called the "Variations
that Make Sense" line. These will come in "themed"
waves. The first waves are all under the heading "Pros and
Cons." These figures consist of 2 assortments that will run
simultaneously with each other broken into 2 groups: popular villains
incarcerated convicts and favorites from the DCU as in their everyday
life as professionals.
Assortment
2 - The Cons:
All
of these guys were born from an idea from master customizer Charlie
Jackam on his website. I think he made either a convict Joker
or a Two-face and said someday he wanted to make a group of Batman
villains in prison garb. Ya gotta do something with all of those
leftover Two-Face heads when you put everyone else in suits! I
found a bunch of Toy Biz and Starting Lineup NASCAR racing figures
on clearance so I beat him to it. So far, all of the base bodies
I have used have all been in different poses from each other which
I like. I was able to match poses to personalities.
Convict
Joker - I don't know WHO the racing guys I used were, but I remember
this one was a Starting line up. I used sculpy to cock his head
to the side, and I gave him high top sneakers... just cuz I think
that's what he'd want.
Convict
Lex Luthor - This is a Toy Biz NASCAR body and a Lex head.
Convict
Two-Face - Two-Face is a Toy Biz body with a Two-Face head. I
figured Two-face would do whatever he could to express his duality,
so he would smear anything he could get his hands on to mark half
his suit.
Convict Penguin - This was a Toy Biz Penguin. I dremmeled the
crap out of his jacket, and added sculpy to his arms to make them
more animated style. He also has the hands from an animated Batman.
His head was modified with sculpy.
Convict
Mr. Freeze - Mr. Freeze is a Mr. Freeze head and a modified guy
from Team Rocket in the Pokemon line. I wanted what looked like
a no frills containment suit. I had to cut out about 3/4s of an
inch from each of his legs, repositioned his right arm and had
to make a new thumb.
Convict
Scarecrow/Jonathan Crane - This recipe was a suggestion from General
Zod. We were brainstorming on whom else I could make in prison
garb one day. He remembered I had picked up the Atlantis 4 pack
at target while it was on clearance for $4.60 and Milo with his
stringy hair and oversized glasses would make a great Jonathan
Crane. I knew I still had a skinny Starting Lineup body and thus
was Convict Scarecrow born. I filled in Milo's goofy smile with
sculpy and added the crow from the Scarecrow figure making him
a kind of "Birdman of Arkham".
Convict
Riddler - This is another Toy Biz body with an old Riddler head.
I dremmeled the mask off the Riddler's face and repainted it.
