Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse”
Sasha (aka MsBig) has produced
a range of exclusive figures for Joss Whedon’s
new show Dollhouse.
Thanks to Wikipedia for this synopsis...
Echo (Eliza Dushku) is a member of a group of
people known as "Actives" or "Dolls". The Actives are people whose personalities
and existence in the outside world have been wiped clean so they can be imprinted
with any number of new personas—including memory, muscle memory, skills,
and language—for different assignments (referred to as engagements). The
new persona is an amalgam of several real people, and the end result necessarily
incorporates both strengths and flaws from the template personalities.
The Actives are hired out for particular jobs, which can be anything
from crimes to fantasies to the occasional good deed. On engagements,
Actives are monitored by Handlers, like Boyd Langton (Harry
J Lennix). In between engagements they are mind-wiped into a
child-like state and live in a futuristic dormitory/laboratory,
a hidden facility nicknamed "The Dollhouse".
Adele DeWitt (Olivia Williams) is the director of the Dollhouse, Topher
Brink (Fran Kranz) is a scientist who wipes/imprints the Actives, and Dr.
Claire Saunders (Amy Acker) is their physician. There are other Actives,
named for the phonetic alphabet, like Sierra (Dichen Lachman).
Although the Actives are ostensibly volunteers who work for a
period of five years, the operation is highly illegal and under
constant threat from Paul Ballard (Tahmoh Penikett),
a determined federal agent who has heard rumors about the Dollhouse.
Disco-Doll Echo
Echo has an assignment as a super-date. She spends a whirlwind
weekend with a guy, culminating in a mad motorcycle race and
throwing some shapes on the dance floor, before she heads back
for her “treatment” at midnight, like Cinderella.
Hard-Target Echo
Echo is on an engagement that goes horribly wrong, and finds
herself being stalked in the wilderness by a madman with a crossbow.
Dollhouse-Handler Boyd Langton
Boyd Langton, a former cop, is a handler at the Dollhouse assigned
to Echo. He has doubts about the ethics of what the Dollhouse
does with the Actives.
Dollhouse-Director Adele DeWitt
Adele DeWitt is the highest ranking official at the Los Angeles
Dollhouse (there are 20 worldwide). She seems cold and can be
ruthless, but truly believes that what they do at the Dollhouse
helps people.
Dollhouse-Programmer Topher Brink
Topher Brink is the scientist who operates the Dollhouse technology
and uses it to imprint new personalities on the Actives. Very
cynical and ego-driven, Topher's knowledge of human behavior
allows him to specially craft the various personalities of the
Actives for their various missions.
Dollhouse-Doctor Claire Saunders
Dr. Saunders was attacked by an out-of-control former Active
and has extensive facial scars. She still remains patient and
caring of the Actives. She tries to protect Echo and the others
from harm.
Memory-Wipe Sierra
Sierra is the most recent Active to be added to the Dollhouse.
When Echo first sees her, Topher is putting Sierra through the
painful process of the extensive first mind-wipe.
FBI-Agent Paul Ballard
Paul Ballard is the FBI special agent assigned to the Dollhouse
case. While most in the Bureau view the case as a joke, he takes
it seriously, to the point of obsession.
