RECIPE
Harley Quinn has a MicroLady Catwoman body and Street Fighter
Sakura head. The details were stripped down and there was also
some additional sculpting done. The mallet is a Xevos weapon
sanded and painted to match her mallet from the comic. Her two
pistols were sanded and painted to fit her hands. They were
originally accessories from a Trigun Meryl figure. The bazooka
was painted silver to match the comic. The bomb was made from
two beads, some thread, and a small amount of clay. The portraits
were printouts glued to a stiff card. A thin frame was made
from 1mm black elastic line and superglued to the edges. A thin
piece of wire was also superglued to the back of the portraits
to hang from the display base. The display was originally part
of the Trigun Meryl display but was mostly stripped down and
painted. Two hyenas were completely sculpted from scratch, sanded,
then painted. We used Citadel Acrylic Paints and Aves FixIt
Sculpt on Harley.
The hyenas were sculpted using Sculpey.

This Power Pack includes: Wonder Woman, Mera, Hawkgirl, Power
Girl, Vixen, Gypsy
RECIPE: I’m most pleased with Vixen in this set, which
totally took me off guard. I used the NBA arms and torso
for her, which gives her longer arms than a standard minifig,
but she turned out great. I tried to
minimize the use of Sculpey for these, and was able to just use
it for Mera and Wonder Woman’s tiaras and Hawkgirl’s
helmet. I’m
still not entirely satisfied with Hawkgirl’s wings, but
those can be rebuilt at some point if I get ambitious. The rest
of the changes are acrylic paint and line work with a Uni-Ball
ink pen…pretty straightforward.
The Villainesses of the DC Universe Power Pack includes: Circe,
Star Sapphire, Queen Bee, Volcana, Cheshire, Killer Frost, Giganta
RECIPE: I was able to get away with only using Sculpey for
Queen Bee and Volcana, both of whom have unique enough hairpieces
that I had to sculpt them. Otherwise, it’s just acrylic
paints with black Uni-Ball pens used for the details. I
may go back and make Circe’s hair a
shade lighter—more lavender than purple. I’m
also working on a large-scale version of Giganta to terrorize
the Justice League, but other than that, I like how they turned
out.
The minifigures include: Jade, Katma Tui, Arisia
RECIPE: No Sculpey this time—just some acrylic
paint for the skin tones and the Green Lantern details. The
line details are drawn on with Uni-Ball ink pens…other
than that, it’s
all acrylics.
