Hard on the heels of LEGO’s incredible success with Batman,
Superman, and Justice League playsets and vehicles comes their
next adventure with DC Comics: “Minifig Power Packs.” LEGO
minifigures have been icons for decades, and can be considered
the industry’s first block
figures.
With fans clamoring for more characters to fill out their DC
Universe adventures, LEGO is putting out assortments of heroes
and villains that can ally with the characters that have already
filled the toy shelves of kids and adult collectors alike.
This special Heroines of the DC Universe Power Pack balances
the ranks of the Justice League…although Wonder Woman was
available as a part of the Hall of Justice Playset, many fans
still don’t have her as
a part of their League. Quinn Rollins, brand manager for
the Power Packs, says “we’ve made an effort to include
women in our various DC Comics sets, but figured there were enough
heroines out there to fill out at least one Power Pack. And
I really think the roster we’ve
come up with complements Fire, Ice, Black Canary, Zatanna, and
the other heroines that LEGO has already put out.”
This Power Pack includes: Wonder Woman, Mera, Hawkgirl, Power
Girl, Vixen, Gypsy
Brand manager Quinn Rollins: “We’ve had some very
popular villainesses as part of our other LEGO products, including
Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Live Wire, and Cheetah…but
other than that, the Legion of Doom has been a real boy’s
club. So we thought we’d
get things rolling with some really nasty women with axes to
grind. And
no one does that better than the DC Universe.”
The Villainesses of the DC Universe Power Pack includes: Circe,
Star Sapphire, Queen Bee, Volcana, Cheshire, Killer Frost, Giganta
This is the first LEGO.com exclusive Power Pack, a set of three
female Green Lanterns. After the Green Lantern Corps set
that was part of the Justice League series of LEGO sets, thousands
of fans expressed their outrage that no female Green Lanterns
were included. “My wife
was one of the ones who wrote in,” says brand manager Quinn
Rollins. “And
they’ve got a point—we made John Stewart, Hal Jordan,
Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner, Kilowog, Tomar Re and Ganthet…but
left a few notable GLs out.”
This Power Pack tries to correct that oversight, by making
three of the most famous female Green Lanterns available in one
small set at a low price.
The minifigures include: Jade, Katma Tui, Arisia
