The Legion of Superheroes, for those of you that don’t
know, is DC’s superhero team from 1000 years into the
future. A simplistic view of the Legion might say it is comprised
young adults with special abilities from different planets
banding together to try to keep the future safe. Then again
nothing with The Legion is ever simple so I won’t get
into terms like pre-boot and post-boot (darn that Zero Hour
storyline)…
Welcome to the second day of Legion figures. On the first day,
you saw the team members who could move a planet. Today I
bring you the team members that could keep other sentients
from knowing that the planet had been moved…The Legion
Espionage Squad.
Apparition: Tinya Wazzo can “phase” through solid
substances thanks to her mother being from the planet Bgtzl.
Since her father hails from the planet Cargg, she can split
into three beings. The rest of her story is just simply complicated.
But seeing how she’s in The
Legion, and since this is a Legion action figure showcase,
here she is.
Chameleon: Reep Daggle from the planet Durla. Durlans have
the ability to shift their size, shape, and mass. This makes
them one of the most mistrusted races in the United Planets.
Dreamer: Dreamer, formerly known as Dream Girl or Nura Nal,
is a pre-cog with the ability to see flashes of the future.
She knew she was going to get an action figure.
Gates: Gates is from a bug-like race (on the planet Vryga)
with a hive mentality. He has a special ability even among
his people, and that is teleportation. Gates gives The Legion
a unique personality in that he tends toward socialistic philosophies
and “fight-the-power” diatribes.
Invisible Kid: Lyle Norg has a secretive past. A “behind-the-scenes” thinker
with a penchant for strategy and applied street smarts, Lyle
can also turn Invisible whenever he wants.
Saturn Girl: Imra Ardeen from the Saturn moon, Titan. Like
all Titanians, Imra is a telepath. Like all superheroes, Imra
is also the “best” telepath or so it would seem.
Whatever… she’s blond,
she’s manipulative, and she is also a Legion founder.
Now she’s
a 5” action figure too.
Sensor: A princess from the planet Orando, Jeka was not always
a snake, but that is another story… Jeka has the power
to create illusions in sentient’s minds.
Shrinking Violet: Salu Digby from the planet Imsk, like all
Imskians, can shrink down to microscopic proportions. Unlike
the rest of her fellow Imskians, she can also grow to mammoth
proportions. It’s all pretty straight forward stuff.
Triad: Triad is also known as Luornu Durgo from the planet
Cargg. Carggites have the ability to split into three separate
beings. Mix in three solid personalities and an impressive
knowledge of tri-jitsu and you have one (or three) handy Legionnaires.
XS: Jenni Ognats is The Legion speedster and from a great
DC family line. Granddaughter of Barry Allen and cousin to
Impulse/Bart, Jenni just runs fast.
