Transformers:
The Action Masters

With
the success of the Transformer PVC's, Hasbro has licensed 2D Toys
to revive an old Transformer toyline: The Action Masters!!
Like the Action Masters of old the emphasis of these new figures
are less on transforming and more on accurate likeness and articulation.
These figures will feature at least 21 points of articulation.
To keep the transforming concept, these figures will also come
with transforming weapons and accessories, as well as their signature
weapons from the show.
Prototypes were pictured at the Con. The initial assortment for
Action Masters 2 will include Bumblebee, Starscream, Megatron,
and Optimus Prime.
More
fan favorites are planned in the future, including Soundwave,
Grimlock, Ironhide, Devastator and Unicron.
Bumble
Bee was made from a High Grade Universal Century Guncannon model
kit. The chest was reshaped with epoxy putty, and styrene was
used for the shoulders. The head was made from Sculpey.
Starscream
was made from a 1/100 Gundam Airmaster Burst model kit. The
arms and legs were reshaped with cut pieces of styrene with
epoxy putty to cover the seams. The torso was shaped with epoxy
putty and the head was made from sculpey. The wings were cut
from sheet styrene.
Megatron
was made from a Master Grade RX 78 Gundam model. The torso,
arms, and legs, were redone with square pieces of styrene sheets.
The head was made from Sculpey. The cannon was made from styrene
tubing, a Krazy glue container and a random twistoff bottlecap.
Optimus
Prime was made from a Master Grade RX 78 Gundam model. The arms,
torso and legs were redone with cut pieces of styrene and some
epoxy putty. the head was altered with epoxy putty and the antennas
came from the Gundam's V antenna. The smokestacks were styrene
tubing.
