Maximum Golden Age
New from Maximumjla Studio, Maximum Golden Age series one,
consisting of 4 Golden Agers, Liberty Belle, Red Tornado, Star-
Spangled Kid and Stripsey and one modern JSA build-a-figure
Atom Smasher.
Liberty Belle
Liberty Belle was was one of the founding members (and later chairwoman)
of the All-Star Squadron. In her secret identity, she was famous
radio columist Libby Lawrence. Her powers of enhanced speed, strength,
and stamina were linked to the ringing of the Liberty Bell in
Philadelphia.
Red Tornado
The Golden Age Red Tornado. Her real name is Abigail
Mathilda "Ma" Hunkel was originally a housewife
and mother whose costume consisted of longjohns and a
pot on her head. Ma Hunkel first adopted the identity
of the Red Tornado to fight local criminals in her New York City
neighborhood, inspired by her son's admiration for Green Lantern.
Stripesy & Star-Spangled Kid
The original Star-Spangled Kid was Sylvester Pemberton, was
a member of the Seven Soldiers of Victory as well as the
All-Star Squadron. He was unique in that he was a kid
superhero who had an adult sidekick, Stripesy a.k.a. Pat
Dugan.
Atom Smasher
The godson of Al Pratt, the Golden Age Atom, Albert Rothstein acquired
his mutant powers of super-strength and control over his molecular structure (allowing him to alter the size and density
of his body) from his grandfather, a reluctant supervillain
known as Cyclotron, allowing him to fight crime first as Nuklon, and
then, later, he took the Atom Smasher identity shortly
before the founding of the current Justice Society of America,
of which he is a charter member.
