The big surprise
out of CustomCon is Hasbro's plans for relaunching their late
80's C.O.P.S. N Crooks brand. Line manager, P-Luv, gave
us the lowdown, "We think people will be pleasantly surprised.
These aren't the toys fans remember. The most noticeable
difference is that these will be in the 3 3/4 inch scale to
allow interaction with our two other top lines Star Wars and
GI Joe. With
this first wave we took the characters we thought had to be
made. They're looks have been updated because what was
futuristic 17 years ago isn't exactly futuristic today. I
have to give credit where credit is due though. The key
characteristics for these characters were already in place."
For those not up to speed on this short lived gem of a line here's
the run down. In the future, Empire City is ruled by the
criminal underworld. Big Boss and his organization of crooks
have their hands in every illegal and corrupt activity. That
is, until former FBI agent Baldwin P. Vess, aka Bulletproof,
forms the Central Organization of Police Specialists ( C.O.P.S.).
Now, with their combined skills the C.O.P.S. are dedicated to
Fighting Crime in a Future Time.
