Sillof’s Wonders: The Protectors
We are proud to unveil Wonders Wave 2: The Protectors. America ’s
premier super powered defense group. Coming this fall to the
popular line know simply as WONDERS. Sillof is continuing
his unique spin on famous comic book characters as seen in the
MUTANT ACADEMY that attendees of the last custom con were given
a sneak peak at.
If you are not familiar with Sillof’s work here is a brief
intro. The line is not supposed to look like any version
of the characters you know. But, they are intended to still be
somewhat recognizable. The idea for the line is simple: What if
the characters you knew did not exist and Sillof was somehow allowed
to design the look of these iconic heroes instead. While this
might seem blasphemous to some he has tried to keep the concepts & stories
of the characters and included a few key elements and colors as
references to the characters you know and love, but infused them
with his own ideas to create unique renditions.
Jack Steel
Question: Why does the master spy have to be
young, muscular and in spandex? Wouldn’t he be just as dangerous
as old man, or more so?
The Brigadier
Question: Why would a soldier run around in pirate
boots, bright colors, with an ancient Greek style shield that
he “throws & catches”?
The Tank
Question: Wouldn’t a robotic battle-suit be a little less
streamline and less brightly colored?
Thunder God
Question: Wouldn’t an ancient Viking god look like and ancient
Viking god and not in primary colored spandex?
Behemoth
Question: Wouldn’t a monster mutated by radiation look kind
of like a gross asymmetrical mutated nightmare?
