HOMAGE to HASBRO & TOYBIZ:
Dragon Man B.A.F. series
In an effort to pay tribute to the marketing strategy
of Hasbro's last few BAF series, I have developed the following
line. Its premise is based on offering a large figure
that most people know and want whose components are available
only by purchasing several characters no one would otherwise
buy or characters that have already been made while ignoring
better known and as yet unmade characters. I am also borrowing
the strategy from the old Wal-Mart exclusive Giant Man series
of incorporating a needed component in a variant. The actual
choice of Dragon Man honors ToyBiz for their Fantastic Four
Series that was rumored to actually contain Dragon Man and Kang.
( I believe this was a direct-to-scalper limited offer,
since I never saw, or met anyone who saw, these figures anywhere
other than a collector shop or on E-bay.)
The series and distribution:
Texas Twister includes the head (1 per case)
Shooting Star with holstered guns includes the left arm (1-2
per case)
Shooting Star with drawn guns includes the right arm (1 per
every 35 cases)
Crossfire includes the tail (1 per case)
Therak includes the left leg (1 per case)
Antro includes the right leg (1 per case)
Arachne (packaged with her head facing you) includes the left
wing
Arachne (packaged with her head turned to the side) includes
the right wing) (there were some production and shipping problems
on this figure and so currently there aren't any in circulation)
Drax, who is probably the only figure most
people would want, includes the spleen ( was supposed to be
5 per case, but due to the Arachne issue, we made it 6 per
case )
To get the Dragon Man body itself, just mail in a Proof of
Purchase for all of the figures and an unretouched digital photo
of the complete Ronan the Accuser series on the pegs of any
KB or TRU in NJ. We'll even throw in a spare Sentinel tentacle.
