"PRESS RELEASE, AP: Imagine your heroes had lived
in a distant time...a time of war...a time when men fought for
what was right. During two crucial periods of history many of
our heroes fought - they fought against tyranny and oppression...and
they fought against very formidable enemies, villains who wished
to use these times of crisis to achieve their own wicked agendas.
During the Crusades, our heroes fought against the evil Darkseid,
Lord of Apokolips and his twisted imperfect clone of Superman,
The Abomination - who later became known as Bizarro. He was
opposed by none other than Superman and The Green Lantern. Unknown
to both sides was a very mysterious figure who played both sides
of this game, some say he wears the image of a bat on his chest...others
say he is half bat, half man. We have simply come to know him
as The Batman. Fortunately Superman and Green Lantern defeated
Darkseid and Bizarro with the reluctant aid of the Batman....
but,
as history is always bound to do, certain events began to repeat
themselves during the late 18th century in the land to the
West....the land of America.
Once again, Superman rose with a new host of allies against
a new host of treacherous villains, but...that's a story for
another day....
